Yoga and Ayurveda: The Five Elements of Healing with Dr. Claudia Welch and yogi Scott Blossom L.Ac.: Residential Retreat at the beautiful Cavallo Point Retreat, within the Golden Gates National Parks, about a mile from Sausalito, CA, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. In an age where we are increasingly confusing stress with energy and ballast with nourishment, Ayurveda and Yoga offer compatible views of and tools for achieving balance. Claudia and Scott break away from a seiminar-style, note-taking mode of learning. Instead, they work together to combine modern perspective with ancient, practical wisdom to facilitate an experience of the Five Elements of Ayurveda through yoga asana, pranayama, diet, lifestyle, and understanding. Wear your sweat pants and come prepared to feel, breathe, move, eat and chant, as well as hone mental focus and clarity. Whether you are new to Ayurveda and Yoga or want some practical inspiration to apply to your current routine, we would love to see you here.

Breath, Mind and Hormones
How Pranayama Affects the Channels of the Mind and Women's Hormones
Dr. Claudia Welch and Bea Doyle
If we explore ancient Ayurvedic and Tantric texts, we find that breath is one of the most powerful and instantaneous tools we can use to affect our minds, hearts and bodies. Affecting the mind and heart impacts hormonal balance. Over the course of this weekend, we will combine theory with practice as we look at the channel systems of the body and mind through the lens of Ayurveda and Tantra. We will learn a simple approach to understanding stress and sex hormones, and how to practically address hormonal balance through pranayama.
Times: Friday, November 14, 6:30-8:30pm; Saturday, November 15, 9:00am-Noon and 2:00-4:00pm; Sunday, November 16, 9:00am-Noon.
Note: The Friday night session (6:30-8:30) is free and open to the public.
