                                     Telephone Consultations with Dr. Claudia Welch

What to Expect

Initial consultations with Dr. Welch are about 50 minutes long. During that time she will have time to hear some of your concerns, ask you some questions and often have time left over to offer some guidance on Oriental or Ayurvedic approaches to your health. Following your consultation, if appropriate, she will compile and send or email you an individualized packet of information on Oriental or Ayurvedic lifestyle, dietary and/or remedies specific to your concerns. This information often includes information about your constitution, according to Ayurvedic medicine. She strives to give you information—both on the phone and in writing—to support your confidence in addressing your concerns yourself, mainly through lifestyle and diet. Dr. Welch is rarely able to give more than one phone consultation per person, but in that one consultation, you get a lot of information to hopefully inspire you in a healthy direction, using simple but powerful tools.

Your consultation should in no way be considered to be a substitution for care from your local qualified health care practitioners. Dr. Claudia Welch is not your primary care practitioner and should not be expected to alert you to any serious health concern or to fulfill other functions that your local health care practitioners would fill. If you choose to act on any of information offered during or after your consultation, you are doing so by your own choice and with the agreement of your primary and other health care providers.

Please call (505) 259-7237 in the US, or click here to send Dr. Welch an email to schedule your consultation, and to receive an address to which you will need to send the following paperwork. You will need to send it to Dr. Claudia Welch before the time of the consultation:

 Required Paperwork

o       Completed Health History Form. You can complete and submit this form electronically by clicking here, or print it by clicking here.

o       Completed Initial Informed Consent for Oriental Medical Consultations, signed and dated. You can also request this be sent to you when you schedule the consultation or you can print it by clicking here.

o       A photo of yourself taken within the last six months. A full-body picture (clothed, please) is best, but a face-only picture will do in a pinch.

o       A check or money order, in US funds, for $150.00 made out to “Dr. Claudia Welch”.

If we don’t receive these documents before your scheduled appointment time, we will have to reschedule your consultation.

You will receive a reminder phone call or email, at least 24 hours before your scheduled consultation time. You will be told at that time what phone number to call for your consultation. It will be your responsibility to call that number at the time of your appointment. If we are unable to reach you, please call (505) 259-7237 at the time of your appointment and leave us a number at which we can reach you.

If you call for your consultation and voicemail picks up, there is a busy signal or there is no answer, please leave a brief message with the phone number at which you can be reached and hang up. Then please phone again every minute until you are answered in person. Please don’t leave any more messages and don’t wait five minutes. This arrangement will help us avoid spending 5-10 minutes calling one another, leaving each other messages, crossing lines, etc.
